TIP: How to stop awkward silences

Have you ever been in a conversation with someone new, maybe even an old friend and then all of a sudden you can’t think of what to say? Sometimes when you already know the other person and are familiar with their interests, then you can generally stir up something to talk about, but unfortunately this is not always the case. When you speak to someone for the first time and you aren’t aware of who they are, what hobbies they carry out, what movies they like to watch and so forth, there comes a point where you just don’t have any more basic questions to ask.

We here at 6rounds have already thought about that possibility for you and we have done our best to make your conversations awkward free. How? Well, that would be with our TIP button.

If you have noticed when you’re in a round with someone, by the chat box, to the right of the send button, there is a button with a life buoy icon on it and the word “TIP” next to it. How would this little button help me in my conversation you may ask? Well, when you press on the TIP button, our system will provide you with a few hints, questions, conversation starters and icebreakers to ask your chat partner. Out matching mechanism kicks in and provides you with questions based on one of three categories. Just see below:

1. If you have both filled out your profile with personal information, it will give you questions based on your common interests.

For example: You and Steven both like the TV show Lost. Ask Steven: which character would you like to kill off Lost?

2. If only one of you has filled out your profile with personal information, it will provide a random question to ask the one with no info in the profile, and an interest based question for the person whose filled out their profile.

For example: Steven loves listening to Eminem. Ask him: how many songs from Eminem do you have on your playlist?

3. If neither of you has filled out your profile with personal information, it will provide both of you with random questions to ask the other.

For example: If you had three wishes right now, what would you ask for?
